MIG Welding Body Restoration

So here is the deal! You have a car and need a new metal put in. Yes, you can go with body filler, but what about the parts like the chassis? If you have a MIG welder can help you all to join metal repairs. Some people like gas welding or stick welding, but the main problem with welding processes are distorted! MIG is clean, fast, and works great with a thin metal used in cars, plus it is what most body shops use! The down side is you have to buy, rent or borrow one of the machines. For a few hundred dollars you can easily find one for sale, and in the worst case you can take a real good pre-owned machines!

MIG welding on the car quite easily. All you need is a machine and filler wire. When it comes to the filler wire there are two ways to go. Solid wire or wire shield themselves. There are pros and cons to both options. Solid welding wire to make more clean, but it also means you need to get a bottle of CO2. Self-shielding cables do not need petrol, but the welds need to be cleaned after they are finished. Either way, it beats using body filler to patch the hole!

Set up of the machine depends on the thickness of your metal and welding it. It is recommended that you first select a piece of scrap metal the same thickness and type of metal as one that will be welding and welding practices in the memo. Set the machine so that when the welding has a crackling sound fast to it. Once you get to the bottom, it's time to prepare your car's metal.

Preparatory work for the improvement of metal on the car needs cleaning steel joints so that only clean show. This is not just for cars but MIG welding in general. You want everything to match as closely as possible so there are no gaps. One thing to watch out for before starting anything flammable in your work area.
